Which PDF tools are free?
In the Android app: importing a PDF into a note and writing on it, scanning with the camera, turning images into a PDF, merging, splitting, organising and rotating pages, protecting or unlocking a file, and adding a watermark or page numbers. The web app has the same tools for a free account, except importing into a note, which comes with cloud sync. They run on your device, and the file is not uploaded.
What do the paid plans add for PDFs?
In both apps: editing a PDF's text and images, and signing it. On the tablet you can also sign with your pen and copy text out of photos and scanned pages. Online: compressing and repairing a PDF, making a scan searchable, converting PDF to Word and Office files to PDF, and translating a document while keeping its layout. Each online run is a job; Pro includes 50 a month, Premium 200, and Plus, offered in some countries, 50.
Where do my documents go when I use an online tool?
The file is uploaded over an encrypted connection to our servers, processed, and the result is returned to you. The file and its result are deleted within a day, as the Privacy Policy describes. Changing the words already in a PDF in the web app also uses our server, only after you agree to send the file, and that copy is deleted within 30 minutes.
Are the PDF tools in the web app?
Yes. The web app has the PDF tools too, in the same Create, Edit and Convert groups. The tools that make, edit and sign PDFs run in your browser, so the file stays on your device; the online tools, and changing the words already in a PDF, use our servers. A PDF you have imported into a note opens in the web app with its pages and your writing, and you can keep writing on it.
