This summary is here to help. The full text below is what applies.
1. Our policy
Tavora Notes lets people keep notes, PDFs, pictures, recordings and videos, and share them with people they invite or through a link. We respect the rights of copyright owners and expect the people who use Tavora Notes to do the same. We respond to notices of claimed infringement under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and handle complaints under other countries' copyright laws in the same way.
If something shared through Tavora Notes uses your work without permission, tell us as described below. If you are not sure whether a use is allowed, for example as fair use, consider getting advice before you send a notice.
2. Sending a notice
The quickest way is Report on the page where you see the material, choosing "Copyright or trademark". You can also write to our designated agent (below). Your notice must include:
- your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is enough by email);
- the copyrighted work you believe is infringed, or a list of works if there are several;
- the material you believe infringes it and where it is, such as the link to the shared note (it starts with tavoranotes.com/s/) or the note's title and who shared it with you;
- your name, postal address, phone number and email address;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
A notice missing these parts may not be acted on; we will tell you what is missing when we can.
3. Our designated agent
Notices of claimed infringement go to:

4. What happens next
A person on our team reviews every notice. If it is complete, we stop the material being shared, for example by turning off its link and removing the people it was shared with, and we tell the person who shared it why. The material stays in their own library: only the sharing stops. We also tell you what we did.
The person who shared the material may receive a copy of your notice, with your name and contact details, so they can respond.
5. Counter-notices
If your material was taken down and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to our designated agent. It must include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- the material that was removed and where it appeared before it was removed;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith that it was removed by mistake or misidentification;
- your name, postal address and phone number;
- a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the district where your address is (or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which Tarnivo Labs LLC may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the notice or their agent.
We forward a complete counter-notice to the person who sent the notice. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they have gone to court to stop the infringement, the material may be shared again 10 to 14 business days after we received the counter-notice.
6. Repeat infringers
We close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe copyright, in appropriate circumstances, for example after more than one valid notice about material they shared.
7. False claims
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, can be liable for the damages that causes, including costs and lawyers' fees.
8. Trademarks and other rights
For a trademark or another right, use Report on the page or write to support@tavoranotes.com, describing your right and where the material appears. We review these under our Acceptable Use Policy.
